Match Reports
India Wins Big Against Pakistan!
In the most important match of the year, Virat Kohli showed everyone that he is still a great player! He scored 14,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket and hit his 51st century (100 runs in one match). Because of his amazing performance, India won the match and is now close to reaching the semi-finals. But for Pakistan, things got really tough. Now, they need other teams to lose so they can still have a chance in the tournament.
India was already the favorite to win. They played like champions! Pakistan scored 241 runs, but India’s bowlers made sure they didn’t score more. Hardik Pandya was incredible—he took out Pakistan’s best batters and made it impossible for them to score big.
Another star was Kuldeep Yadav. He spins the ball in a very tricky way, and Pakistan’s batters couldn’t understand how to hit it. He took three important wickets at the end when Pakistan was trying to score fast. But he stopped them!
Pakistan had some good moments too. Shaheen Afridi bowled an amazing ball to hit Rohit Sharma’s stumps. Abrar Ahmed also bowled beautifully to get Shubman Gill out. But Pakistan couldn’t take advantage of these moments. They were playing well at first with 151 runs for only two wickets, but then everything went wrong. They lost all their players for just 241 runs. India’s young bowler, Harshit Rana, made things even harder with his slow and tricky balls.
At the end of the match, India was very close to winning, and Kohli was close to scoring 100 runs. Axar Patel, his teammate, gave him the chance to complete his century by not taking an easy run. The crowd in Dubai was so happy! They cheered for Kohli and shouted his name.
Pakistan had disappeared from the match after losing three wickets in just 19 balls. From that moment, the game was completely in India’s hands! 🇮🇳🎉
Iyer has scored 50 runs! 🎉
He is playing so well, making it look very easy—just like a fun walk in the park! No more doubts about his skills. What a great performance! 🔥🏏
India is getting closer to victory! The runs are coming easily now. Look at this sequence of runs between the 29th and 32nd overs:
4 – dot ball – 1 – 1 – 2 – 2 – dot ball – 4 – 4 – dot ball – dot ball – 2 – 1 – dot ball – 6 – 1 – dot ball – dot ball – 4 – dot ball – 2 – dot ball – dot ball – 1
Kohli and Iyer are playing confidently now. They are hitting their shots without fear because:
a) India has strong batters waiting to play.
b) They are very close to winning this match.
Kohli reaches 50 runs! 🎉
He plays a powerful shot over cover point against Naseem Shah. The ball races to the boundary, bringing up his half-century! Kohli looks happy—this is his moment. He knows this game is important, and these runs matter.
To celebrate, he raises his bat, not just once but a few times. At one point, he even does a famous Tendulkar-style bat raise—holding it flat, facing down, just like the cricket legend used to do! 🙌
Shreyas Iyer is getting ready for short balls!
Commentator Dinesh Karthik noticed something interesting about how Iyer is now preparing to face fast bowlers. Before, he used to struggle with short balls, but now he has changed his style. He holds his bat high and moves it up and down while waiting for the bowler. This helps him stay active and not get stuck in one place.
This little bat movement might also help him play the pull shot better. Just now, he faced a very fast delivery from Haris Rauf—143 km/h! Iyer was ready for it. He hit the ball so well that it raced past midwicket for runs!
He seems to know the short ball is coming, and his hands are in the perfect position to hit or avoid it. If there’s space, he plays the shot. If not, he quickly ducks. But he’s also careful about full-length balls, so he doesn’t get tricked. It looks like he has worked hard with his coaches, and it’s paying off! 🚀🏏
Gill is Out! 🎯🏏
Oh no! Gill is out! He looks completely shocked. His eyes are wide, and his mouth is open—he just can’t believe it! He hears the sound of the ball hitting the stumps behind him, and he turns around, as if checking if it really happened.
What a Ball!
The ball spun so fast and so far—how did it do that?! It was a magical delivery! The ball looked like it was going towards the leg stump, maybe even outside. That’s why Gill tried to flick it towards the midwicket. But Pakistan’s spinner, Abrar, had other plans!
Abrar’s Deadly Spin
India’s batters were trying to play Abrar’s spin on the back foot, which usually helps them control the ball better. But Abrar didn’t let that happen! His ball turned sharply, moved quickly, and was impossible to stop! 🎯🔥
A dream delivery for Abrar—pure magic for Pakistan! 🇵🇰✨
🏏 Kohli’s Big Record! 🏏
Virat Kohli has scored 14,000 runs in One Day matches! 🎉 He is the fastest player to reach this big number.
He hit a beautiful shot through the covers, and the ball raced to the boundary! 🏏✨ This was his first four of the match, and the crowd in Dubai is cheering loudly! 🎊👏

Oh no! Gill gets a lucky escape on 35!
Haris Rauf comes in to bowl and makes things exciting right away. His first ball surprises Kohli—it’s slower than expected! Kohli tries to hit it towards the off-side, but the ball almost becomes a catch. Naseem Shah runs in, but it lands just short of him!
Next ball, Rauf uses his short-ball trick against Gill. Gill plays a strong shot, but he hits it straight to short midwicket! Khushdil Shah is there, ready to take the catch… but he drops it! What a big chance missed!
Australia took a similar catch in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, but this time, Pakistan lets Gill stay!
Pakistan vs Kohli – A Big Battle!
Virat Kohli came into this match with people asking, “Can he play well against leg-spin?” In his last six games, he got out to leg-spin five times!
But Pakistan believed in their fast bowlers because they are their biggest strength. So, Kohli faced fast bowling from the start. But guess what? Kohli likes fast bowling! He feels comfortable playing against it.
Pakistan wanted to make him feel uncomfortable in his first 10 balls, but that didn’t happen. Maybe they could have tried Abrar Ahmed, the leg-spinner, for one or two overs to test Kohli.
👉 Did you know? Kohli’s batting average against Pakistan in ODIs is 53! That’s really high! 😲
Shubman Gill is playing very well! He has already scored fifty runs and is helping India keep up the pace in the match. One of his best shots was a beautiful straight drive that went for four runs against Shaheen Afridi.
Gill is being very careful about how he moves his front foot. He doesn’t let it go too far forward or too far to the side. This helps him stay ready for Shaheen’s dangerous swinging balls. Shaheen likes to bowl full-length deliveries that move in the air, trying to trick the batter. But Gill is using good technique—he keeps his bat straight and is ready to hit the ball when it doesn’t swing too much.
Still, cricket can be tricky! One ball from Shaheen looked like it was swinging in, so Gill prepared to flick it towards the leg side. But suddenly, the ball changed direction after bouncing, moving away instead! It hit the edge of his bat, showing how unpredictable the game can be. What an exciting battle between bat and ball!
Rohit Starts Strong!
🏏 Shot! Rohit Sharma hits a four!
🏏 Boom! Now a huge six!
🏏 Some careful shots… then more runs!
With this, Rohit has now scored more than 9,000 runs as an opening batsman in ODIs! 🎉 He is the sixth player in history to reach this milestone. And he does it in style—a smooth, easy shot against fast bowling. No extra effort, just perfect timing!
Powerplay Begins!
🕒 2:26 PM
Indian batsman Shubman Gill talks about his partnership with Rohit Sharma:
🗣️ “Rohit bhai likes to hit big sixes in the air. I like to play along the ground and find gaps. But if I see the bowler is under pressure, I also try to hit big shots.”
Gill and Rohit make a great opening pair. They have a special way of playing together. But will they become one of the greatest ever? They need to play more matches to prove it!
Can Pakistan Stop Them? 🤔
Pakistan’s fast bowlers—Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf—can trouble any batsman in the world 🌍. But are they in top form today? That’s the big question!
The pitch is slow, which makes it hard to hit into the gaps. Earlier, Indian bowlers got some swing with the new ball. So now, it’s a tough and exciting battle between bat and ball! ⚔️🏏
Pakistan all out for 241 runs!
Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya are so happy after getting Saud Shakeel out! What a moment in this big match between Pakistan and India in Dubai! 🎉🏏
Harshit Rana takes the last wicket! Bowling at the end of the innings is not easy. His teammate was getting hit, but Rana had a smart plan. He bowled slower balls that were tricky to hit. They looked normal but suddenly dipped, making it hard for the batter to time the shot!
Rana and Kuldeep did a great job together at the end, taking 4 wickets for just 28 runs in 6.4 overs! 💪🔥
Hardik Pandya was also fantastic! He kept bowling short balls again and again, and Pakistan’s batters couldn’t stop him. He took the important wickets of Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel!
Pakistan got 241 runs—a good score, but maybe they could have scored more! Now, let’s see if India can chase it down! 🏏✨
Kuldeep takes a wicket! 🎉
Salman tries to hit the ball too soon.
But Kuldeep tricks him with a special spin ball (googly).
Salman runs forward to hit, but he swings the bat the wrong way! 😲
The ball goes up in the air instead of far away!
Jadeja catches it easily near the middle of the field.
A big mistake from Salman!
Now, Pakistan has to play 7.2 overs with their last few batters. This will be tough! 💥🏏
Oh no! Is Rohit Sharma injured? 😧
The TV shows Rohit touching his left leg like he feels some pain. It happened when Khushdil Shah played a reverse sweep shot. The ball went toward the cover area, and Rohit started to chase it but stopped. He didn’t run fast. Instead, Shreyas Iyer picked up the ball.
I hope Rohit is okay! 🤞
Jadeja takes a wicket! 🎉
Pakistan is in trouble! They have lost 3 wickets while scoring only 11 runs in 19 balls.

Pakistan needs to be careful! India is putting pressure on them! 💥🏏
Oh no! Shakeel is out! 😲
For 53 overs and two balls, no one lost a wicket. But now, two wickets have fallen in just two overs! Shakeel had another chance to play well, but he couldn’t take it.
Hardik gets a big wicket, and you can see how much effort he has put into his bowling today. He doesn’t just celebrate—he shouts loudly, full of energy! He knows this wicket can change the game, and he is so happy that his plan worked.
In this spell, Hardik has been smart. He slowed the ball down instead of bowling fast, and Shakeel tried to hit a pull shot too early. The ball went high in the air… and straight into the hands of the fielder at deep midwicket! 🎯
Rizwan is Out!
Oh no! Rizwan is out just one ball after he got lucky and survived earlier. This time, Axar Patel bowls him!
Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar explains what happened. India moved a fielder closer to trick Rizwan. The Pakistan captain took the challenge, ran forward, swung his bat hard… but completely missed! The ball hit the stumps, and Rizwan had to walk back. This is India’s first wicket in the middle part of the game in the Champions Trophy, and it took a long time—53.2 overs!
But Pakistan still has a chance! This is the time when they should play strong and score more runs. Rizwan played safe for most of his innings, but now he was trying to take bigger shots. That shows Pakistan wants to take full advantage of the overs left.
India almost got another wicket too! Shakeel nearly got out in the same over, but Kuldeep, running in from long-on, couldn’t hold the catch. If he had caught it, both well-set Pakistan batters would have been out!
Shakeel reaches his fifty! 🎉

This is his fourth half-century in 19 ODI matches. He has been playing smart cricket, always finding a way to take a run, even from good balls. So far, he has only played 29 balls without scoring (dot balls).
Rizwan, on the other hand, has played 40 dot balls. But now, Pakistan’s captain is finding his rhythm! In his last 21 balls, he has scored 17 runs. Pakistan is building a strong innings! 🇵🇰🏏
Rizwan is having a tough time! 😟 He has scored only 24 runs from 50 balls. That means he is getting just one run every two balls. He has hit only two boundaries (when the ball reaches the edge of the field). This is one of his slowest starts in One Day International (ODI) cricket.
But on the other side, Saud Shakeel is playing with more confidence! 💪 He is trying different shots, like the reverse sweep, to confuse India’s spinners and make it harder for them to bowl.
Meanwhile, India is trying to bowl their overs faster. A few minutes ago, they were 12 minutes behind schedule, but now they have caught up a little and are only 8 minutes behind. ⏳
Pakistan is playing slower now!
At the start, they were scoring fast—5.2 runs per over in the first 10 overs. But now, in the next 10 overs, they are much slower, only 2.7 runs per over.
Rizwan hit a nice boundary in the beginning, but after that, he took 34 balls just to score 10 more runs! He is trying to hit the ball hard, but it keeps going straight to the fielders. One of his big shots didn’t go far—it landed at short midwicket.
India is also playing smart! They are not letting him face spinners, making it harder for him to score.
India is a little slow in bowling their overs. They are 14 minutes late, as shown on TV. So far, only 4 out of 18 overs were bowled by spin bowlers. Also, there was a small break when Shami needed treatment for his leg. The time for that break is counted separately.
India is putting a lot of pressure on Pakistan! Out of the first 90 balls, 61 were dot balls, meaning Pakistan couldn’t score on them. After the fielding restrictions were lifted, 19 more dot balls came in the next 30 deliveries.
Finally, some relief for Pakistan! Shakeel plays a smart shot, lifting the ball over the keeper to hit the first boundary in 32 balls. This match is not about scoring 300 runs each—it’s more about reaching 260 first. Then, if Pakistan has enough batters left in the last 10 overs, they can try to push towards 280!
Mohammed Rizwan has scored 1,299 runs in the middle overs (from the 11th to the 40th over) in one-day matches over the last three years. Only five players have scored more than him! Two of them—Shubman Gill from India and Babar Azam from Pakistan—are playing in this match.
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has a clear plan—he wants to stay on the field till the end of the match. By the 13th over, he has scored 6 runs from 12 balls. He also hit a boundary (four runs) using his favorite shot, the sweep, against the spinner. When Babar came to bat, India quickly changed their strategy and brought in fast bowlers instead of spinners.
Shami is back!
It looks like he only took a short break in the dressing room. Now, he is bowling fast again, around 130 km/h. His bowling is better now—he is not making it easy for the batter to hit big shots. Since he is not using a brand-new ball, he is focusing on bowling in the right areas.
Imam-ul-Haq is out! 🚨 He got run out after scoring just 10 runs from 26 balls. A direct throw hit the stumps, and now he has to walk back to the pavilion.
Axar Patel is having a great game! He played an important role in the T20 World Cup final, and that must have made him more confident. Now, India trusts him as a key player. He bats at number 5 and often bowls early in the match.
For the past year or so, Axar has been very important for India in white-ball cricket. This time, he helped his team by making a smart run-out while fielding at mid-on. He is known for his accurate bowling, but today, his throw was just as perfect! 🎯

Babar is out!
Babar Azam tried to play a shot but missed. The very next ball, he was out! Hardik Pandya did it again for India.
This is the second time in three matches that Hardik has taken Babar’s wicket. He is a very special player! He can bowl with the new ball, take big wickets, and change the game in India’s favor. Earlier, India lost their main bowler, Mohammed Shami, but Hardik brought them back into the match.

Not just that, Hardik is also a strong batter. Last night, after England lost, a cricket expert, Nasser Hussain, said that Ben Stokes is very important for England because he balances their team. Hardik is just like him for India—he is talented, fit, and playing at his best!
Indian bowler Shami has left the field. He didn’t look very comfortable while bowling. In the middle of his third over, as he was walking back to his position, he called the team doctor. It looks like there is a problem with his right leg. He managed to finish his over but then left the ground immediately.
Shami had already missed all of India’s matches after the 2023 World Cup because of a knee injury. His recovery was very difficult. Now, India might be facing another problem.
Earlier, Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman on just the second ball of their first match in this Champions Trophy. That early wicket made things very hard for them. Could the same happen to India now?
India has been trying to bowl a little fuller to take advantage of the swing in the air. But this has allowed Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq to hit some beautiful drives. Towards the end of the fourth over, the Indian bowlers changed their strategy. They started bowling shorter deliveries to build pressure on the batters.

The match has started!
Mohammed Shami is not off to a great start. His bowling is not very accurate—he has already thrown three “wide” balls in just five deliveries to Imam-ul-Haq. Maybe he is nervous, or maybe he is finding it hard to bowl to a left-handed batter. Maybe both!
His first over was really long—he bowled 11 balls instead of the usual 6! Most of his deliveries missed the target. Pakistan gets six runs, but only one came from the bat. The rest were just extras. A lucky start for Pakistan!

pak vs ind toss

Pakistan vs India – Match Begins! 🏏
Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, wins an important toss! Since Pakistan must win this match, he decides to bat first. His plan is simple—score as many runs as possible and put pressure on India later.
One change in the team: Fakhar Zaman is out, and Imam-ul-Haq is playing instead.
Pakistan Team:
1️⃣ Babar Azam
2️⃣ Imam-ul-Haq
3️⃣ Saud Shakeel
4️⃣ Mohammad Rizwan (captain)
5️⃣ Salman Agha
6️⃣ Tayyab Tahir
7️⃣ Khushdil Shah
8️⃣ Shaheen Afridi
9️⃣ Naseem Shah
🔟 Haris Rauf
1️⃣1️⃣ Abrar Ahmed
On the other side, India’s captain Rohit Sharma wanted to bat first too, but now the toss is over, so it doesn’t matter. He thinks the pitch will become slower as the game goes on, making it harder to score runs later. Still, he trusts his team to handle it.
India has no changes in their team.
India Team:
1️⃣ Rohit Sharma (captain)
2️⃣ Shubman Gill
3️⃣ Virat Kohli
4️⃣ Shreyas Iyer
5️⃣ Axar Patel
6️⃣ KL Rahul
7️⃣ Hardik Pandya
8️⃣ Ravindra Jadeja
9️⃣ Harshit Rana
🔟 Kuldeep Yadav
1️⃣1️⃣ Mohammed Shami
The match is about to start! Let’s see which team plays better today! 🎉🏏

Today’s cricket match will be played on a pitch that has already been used twice before. This means the surface might not be very smooth for batting. In a previous match between India and Bangladesh, a new pitch was used, but it became slow as the game went on.
Both teams will try to score as many runs as possible in the first few overs (powerplay) because later, when fielders spread out, it will be harder to find gaps and score runs. The straight boundary is very long (81 meters), and the side boundaries are also big (70 meters each). Cricket expert Sunil Gavaskar thinks hitting sixes will not be easy on this ground. He believes that if a team scores around 270 runs, they might be able to defend it and win.
The toss is very important in this match. The team that bats first and scores well could have a big advantage—especially if there is no dew. Last week, the ground staff said there has been no dew all year, and since the match starts at 1 PM, it will likely end before dew becomes a problem. So, a team that bats first and plays well might have a great chance of winning!
Hello everyone! The big cricket match between Pakistan and India is here! The stadium is full of excitement.
Pakistan has had a tough time in this tournament. Their captain, Babar Azam, is a great player, but he sometimes finds it hard to play against spin bowling. Today, he will face India’s spinners. Can he play well and help his team win? Let’s watch and see! 😊🏏
It’s a hot day in Dubai, as always! The temperature is 30°C, but the sun is shining brightly. Imam ul Haq and Babar Azam are on the field, getting ready and practicing. Some players are giving interviews before the match starts.
The stadium is not full yet, but more fans will come soon. Outside the stadium, many Indian fans are wearing their team’s shirts, but not many Pakistan fans are seen yet. Let’s see how the crowd grows as the match gets closer!
