Gaddafi Stadium Redevelopment Nears Completion

Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is getting ready for a grand inauguration on February 7, 2025. Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chairman, confirmed that the work is in its final stages. The stadium was demolished in September and rebuilt in record time.

The event will welcome the teams and officials but will not include a captains’ call or photoshoot due to logistical reasons.
PCB Addresses Concerns Over Stadium Readiness
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced questions about whether the stadiums would be ready. The initial deadline for Gaddafi Stadium was January 25, later extended to February 2.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi responded to critics, saying some people, especially from across the border (India), were looking for flaws in Pakistan’s preparations. He assured that the stadiums would be ready with top security and arrangements.
