Mitchell’s Consistency Against Pakistan

Mitchell became the 108th batter in international cricket to score 1,000+ runs against Pakistan. This milestone also made Pakistan the second opposition against whom he has achieved this feat. The only other team he has scored more runs against is England, with 1,293 runs.

Against England, he has scored four centuries and nine half-centuries. Against Pakistan, he has three centuries and five half-centuries. His ability to perform against top bowling attacks makes him a key player for New Zealand.

Disappointing End to His Innings

Despite his record milestone, Mitchell could not capitalize on the batting-friendly pitch at National Stadium, Karachi. Facing Haris Rauf, he was dismissed for just 10 runs off 24 balls at a strike rate of 41.66. However, his overall strike rate of 103.70 against Pakistan remains the highest among New Zealand batters (min. 250 runs).
