Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto tried to stabilize the innings, but wickets kept falling. Michael Bracewell spun a web around Bangladesh, taking 4 wickets for 26 runs. By the time Bangladesh reached 118/5, they were in deep trouble.
Shanto & Jaker Revive Bangladesh’s Innings
Despite early setbacks, Shanto (77 off 71 balls) and Jaker Ali (45 runs) added crucial runs. Shanto hit a fifty, but he was dismissed before he could reach a century. Jaker Ali’s efforts, supported by Rishad Hossain (26), helped Bangladesh cross 200 runs.
Bangladesh finished with 236/9 in 50 overs, with Bracewell (4 wickets) and William O’Rourke (2 wickets) shining for New Zealand.
New Zealand’s Early Struggles in Chase
Chasing 237, New Zealand lost Will Young in the first over, bowled by Taskin Ahmed. Captain Kane Williamson (5 runs) was also dismissed early by Nahid Rana.
With the Black Caps struggling at 2/27, Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra steadied the innings. Conway scored 30 runs before falling to Mustafizur Rahman. At 72/3, the game was still open.
Rachin Ravindra’s Century Guides New Zealand
Rachin played confidently, hitting boundaries with ease. Along with Tom Latham, he built a 100-run partnership. Ravindra’s fifty came off 50 balls, and New Zealand crossed 150 runs in 29.5 overs.
Rachin reached his century in just 95 balls, smashing 11 fours and a six. His 112-run knock was the game’s highlight.

With only a few runs required, Glenn Phillips and Michael Bracewell sealed the win in 46.1 overs, ensuring New Zealand’s semi-final spot.
